- I never tested it on Power Macintosh but think that it should work with no problems. If not, try SoftwareFPU and see if that helps.
- I never heard about an Native Power Macintosh version—-too bad, too.
- It works with any Mac II and Quadra series but, in my opinion, needs a good configuration (like Quadra 700 minimum) because generating textures is a little bit slow.
- Xtextures creates 2D non repetitive textures.
- Xtextures will be in "Other" sub-menu in the Filters menu.
If you don't want it in the "Other" sub-menu, here's a way to change it (it works for other filters as well) you can change the XTextures sub-menu assignment using ResEdit (WARNING: Using ResEdit is *not* for the faint of heart and you should ALWAYS work on a copy of the software in case of error, act of God, or Murphy's Law intervening):
1) open your plug-in with Resedit
2) open the 8BFM resource and note the ID number(s) of the sub-menu(s) your are interested to change
3) open the PiMi resource and then select the resource(s) you noticed just before
4) Ask for information (command - I)
5) in the field "name" write the name of the sub-menu you want your plug-in to appear in, or a new name if you want to create a new sub-menu (Photoshop will create it automatically)
6) save and quit Resedit
7) launch Photoshop and be happy to have a clean filter-menu.
Note: if you cancel every references to a particular sub-menu, Photoshop will remove it automatically. If you want to come back to the previous organization, just do the same thing in the opposite way.
For KPT Bryce fans: look in the "About XTextures" window, you'll have a good surprise, if this information is still valid.
